What is translucent powder?
Translucent powder, unlike other face powder, does not provide coverage. It is a colourless face powder that is instead intended for setting liquid and cream makeup, mattifying the complexion, reducing shine and smoothing out uneven textures.
Difference between translucent powder and baking powder
Translucent powder is a colourless product that sets makeup, reduces shine and smooths uneven textures. Coloured face powders can also set makeup but they have a pigment and therefore offer a level of coverage.
Baking mainly refers to letting powder sit on certain areas of the face, particularly areas where makeup is prone to creasing, to help it set more. Typically, you would bake by applying more powder in areas such as the under eyes and allow it to sit for about five minutes before sweeping away the excess product.
